page 57: Figure 2.25(b) omitted
*page 74: In the Summary for Chapter 2, all the n in Equations (2.47), (2.57), and (2.64) should be u.
page 148: Problem 4. For large angles theta, the probability that the angle is larger than theta is proportional to exp [-(theta/<theta>
)2]. page 183: The answer key for Problem 23 is incorrect. For part c, the correct answer is 2pi meters. Also, in part b, the group velocity is -50 m/s, the answer key gives +50m/s.
page 237: In Figure 7.8 the magnetic quantum numbers -1 and +1 should be reversed, so that it reads from top to bottom -1, 0, +1.
page 248: In Problem 32, the reference should be to Example 7.8 instead of Example 7.6.
page 412: In the sentence following Equation (12.29b), the comment that reads "see Equation (12.10)" should read "see Equation (12.16).
p. 429: Problem 5. The answer key in the back of the book lists some nuclides that are not contained in Appendix 8. We normally only list in Appendix 8 those nuclides that have a half life greater than 10 s, except for the lighter and heavier nuclides. Please ignore those extra nuclides given in the answer.
page 426: The example is 12.16, not 10.6
page 472: Problem 13.26. The mass of Xe-142 is not given in the appendix, but is needed to solve the problem. The mass of Xe-142 is 141.29700 u.
